I love unboxing a new Android device. But I dread the experience of setting it up.
Android doesn’t support full backup and restore of most third-party app data, so the process involves manually configuring settings and preferences again in many apps. And, up to a few weeks ago, a crucial Google security app, Authenticator, didn’t let you transfer accounts to a new device. This required a manual and unintuitive process.
Here I cover Authy, a Google Authenticator alternative that always allowed to transfer accounts. Plus, it has other useful features such as multi-device and desktop support.
