Reading and writing email is an intimate, personal activity. So Gmail collaboration seems an oxymoron.
Another way of viewing it is email can fit into a collaborative workflow in a business setting or team. It’s what Google aims to support with the redesign that integrated Gmail, Google Chat, Google Meet, and Google Docs into Google Workspace (formerly G Suite). I’ve seen many negative reactions to the redesign. I suspect many come from people who haven’t tried the new features or loath change. I love change and look forward to playing with the redesign when it rolls out to personal accounts.
