You may already use Progressive Web Apps without realizing it.
They look like ordinary websites. A hint at their nature is the snappy performance. On the desktop, the Google Photos website is a PWA. If you install the Twitter or Google News app on Android, the Play Store now delivers a PWA instead of a traditional APK file.
Why bother?
PWAs work across platforms, on Android and on desktop browsers, and combine the best features of websites with those of native apps, such as managing and running the app from the system launcher, accessing device features, or working offline.
