Okay, let’s agree Google’s constantly changing messaging strategy — or lack of it — has been, um, ineffective. So the surge in the demand for remote communication tools because of the COVID-19 pandemic caught Google off guard. Again. And Zoom turned into a household name overnight.
The Google Meet videoconferencing platform was initially available only to G Suite customers. Opening it to personal accounts helped it gain some more market share. Although Google is still catching up with Zoom by adding extra features, Meet is a solid alternative.
